In the middle of the month dedicated to Our Lord's Most Sacred Heart, over one hundred friends of the Institute from the four corners of the United States came to the Shrine of Christ the King in Chicago for the annual national retreat of the lay Society of the Sacred Heart from June 14-16.
"Ten years already!" Aside from the thundering brass and gorgeous polyphony, this was the resounding refrain in the Wisconsin air as hundreds of people from around the globe found themselves once again in the small but growing town of Wausau to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the consecration of St. Mary's Oratory of the Immaculate Conception on May 31.
More than 60 young adults ages 18 and older from over 10 states gathered at the beautiful, peaceful setting of Mundelein, Illinois (about 30 miles northwest of Chicago), for a spiritually refreshing and friendship-building weekend.
Three days after the 10th anniversary of the solemn dedication on May 31 at St. Mary's Oratory in Wausau, from June 3-7, the Institute priests serving in the American Provence met at St. Francis de Sales Oratory in St. Louis for their annual retreat.
At the beginning of July, the week of Ordinations in Florence, Italy, will bring many graces to the worldwide spiritual family of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest.
The Institute hosted a 12 day pilgrimage to France from April 9-20. Under the spiritual guidance of Canon Benoit Jayr, sixteen pilgrims from eight states visited many of the most significant religious sites.
God has blessed the Institute with quite a number of young men who have a strong vocation to the clerical community life as brothers in the family of the Institute.
Five young women from three countries received the religious habit of the Sisters Adorers of the Royal Heart of Jesus Christ Sovereign Priest upon the completion of their postulant years.
This year Institute priests and faithful have joined in pro-life gatherings across the nation.
