A message from Mr. Christopher Garton-Zavesky, IHMO schola director...

In January of 2023, Mr. Christopher Garton-Zavesky succeeded Michael Hey as Choirmaster at the Oratory, a post he had held for 29 years. Mr. Zavesky wS trained from the time he was a little boy primarily as a singer in a rich tradition of polyphony. He began organ lessons at 16, eventually studying organ at Oberlin College with Garth Peacock and Haskell Thomson, but not as a conservatory student. Mr. Zavesky has composed choral works, sacred and secular, for from 2 to 8 voices.
