Berghammer Construction has prepared our first Cost Model, which helps us to establish a budget benchmark for the Phase 1 work. The budget effort was comprehensive and included all of the scope in our “wish list” for Phase 1. Now that we are able to see a benchmark value to this work, Barrientos Design & Consulting and Berghammer are working through the collaborative process of further defining the scope of work, and balancing the level of quality and longevity we need with the budget for the project. This value analysis will help us ensure the design and features to support the long-term goals of the SHRC.

 

In conjunction with the further definition of the budget, the design will also evolve as we begin the design development phase with Barrientos who is developing the proposed architectural and design planning services (construction documents, and assistance in bidding and construction administration) for the next design stage for Phase 1.

 

Finally, we are currently assessing proposals from engineering firms to help us assess options and define the scope and systems for our HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.  The goal is to have an engineering firm on board by the end of April.
