Confirmations at St. Joseph Oratory in Detroit

On the Feast of Christ the King, Sunday, October 28, St. Joseph Oratory gratefully welcomed His Grace, the Most Reverend Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron, for the conferral of the Sacrament of Confirmation on youth and adults. The Archbishop beautifully reminded the Confirmandi that they are soldiers of Christ, on a mission to be about the work of Jesus Christ. He also encouraged all those present to be renewed in the graces of their Baptism and Confirmation. Prior to the ceremony, the Archbishop enjoyed time greeting the Confirmandi, and viewing firsthand the wonderful progress on the steeple restoration accomplished during the first year of the Oratory's Historic Renewal campaign.

Following the Confirmations, U.S. Provincial Superior Canon Matthew Talarico offered the Solemn High Mass for Christ the King, assisted by Canon Michael Stein and Canon Adrian Sequeira. The St. Joseph Cappella sang Palestrina's Missa Aeterna Christi Munera. Parishioners, friends, and family then gathered in the Social Hall for an uplifting Reception for the Confirmandi. Veni, Creator Spiritus!
