Traditional Latin Mass, Consecration Solemn High Mass

With the gracious permission of the Archbishop of Newark, the Most Reverend John Myers, the Institute of Christ the King has assigned a priest to the Latin Mass Community at St. Anthony of Padua Chapel in West Orange, Newark-New Jersey.

St. Anthony of Padua Chapel is situated in a pleasant residential neighborhood in West Orange, about 20 minutes from the beautiful Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark and 40 minutes from downtown New York. While being a newer church building, it boasts an elegant high altar and an array of devotional statues and stained glass windows. With a good sized rectory it is located in a wooded area, with well-entertained, beautifully landscaped gardens and a large parking lot. The Chapel is easily accessible from all directions. All are welcome!

Rectory Rectory

Father Andreas Hellmann, former Vice-Rector of the Institute's Shrine of Christ the King in Chicago, has been assigned Rector of Saint Anthony's in early May 2008.
Before coming to Chicago Father Hellmann worked for two years as a missionary in the Institute's Mission in Mayumba, Gabon (Africa) and before that, four years at Saint Joseph Oratory in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
