Our Apostolic Work

Living truth with Charity
Consecration of the Institute
to the Immaculate Conception

The Institute has the aim of fostering the Kingship of Our Lord Jesus Christ in all the realms of the Church and the world. We do that in the first place by celebrating the traditional Latin Mass and the sacraments of the Church according to the traditional rite in the most solemn and dignified manner possible. The prayer life and the spirituality of the Institute is also a very important column of our apostolic work. Only a true spirituality and a continuous contact with the Lord can give a solid foundation to our apostolic activities without leading into a void activism that sacrifices the Catholic truth to compromise and confuses the care for the souls with all kinds of so-called pastoral busyness. If the priest’s life is not rooted deeply in the mystery of the altar and the presence of the Lord in the Holy Eucharist, all his efforts can easily become centered to everything but God. For this reason, we try with a sound community life and common prayer of the Holy Office, with holy hours and retreats always to remember the real source of all apostolic work.

The Institute has apostolates in 3 continents and more than 25 dioceses. We are in many towns, dioceses and countries. Between parish-like apostolates with hundreds of families, retreat houses, schools, convents, and speaking engagements, our priests are out reaching not only to those who already know about the traditional Latin Mass but also to those who have left the Church or have never known it.

All of them should be brought to our King and High Priest, Jesus Christ. We have often experienced that the best instrument for bringing people to Jesus is indeed the Holy Liturgy, but as our Prior General frequently said: “the Latin Mass is like a gem that needs a setting.” Therefore, it also our goal to transform daily life into a worthy setting for the daily celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. St. Benedict, one of our patrons, wanted our whole life to be a liturgy in the honor of God. We imitate his example by giving loving attention to all the details not only during Mass but also in our churches, in our priories, in our schools, and in all the apostolic activities that we undertake. The love for God and the charity towards your neighbor is shown not so much in grand deeds and heroic achievements but in the charitable care for the true, the good, and the beautiful in every moment of our daily activities. St. Francis de Sales has been called the most mortifying of the saints because he understands perfectly how many little sacrifices and loving care is asked from those who want to love the Lord every day. Many times it is easier to pray a whole night and to fast on bread and water than to be kind and patient with your neighbor who is difficult and demanding. We try, with St. Francis de Sales, to teach ourselves, our faithful, and especially the youth attached to the Institute the ways of charity that start with the Holy Liturgy to end in Heaven.

The following pictures will show you our apostolic work all over the world. Pray for our priests that they never get tired in living the truth with charity. It is this combination that the Lord has shown us and that will even today attract more and more people to the one true religion of Holy Mother Church.
