The Most Reverend Joseph N. Perry, Auxiliary Bishop in the Archdiocese of Chicago, conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation upon fifteen young people from the Shrine of Christ the King on Saturday, October 22. This sacramental celebration took place in the spacious St. Thomas the Apostle Church located near the fire-damaged Shrine (special thanks to the pastor, Father Elias O’Brien O. Carm). Following the Confirmations, Bishop Perry celebrated solemn Pontifical votive Mass in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary with Renaissance choral music and Gregorian Chant. With deep appreciation, the Institute of Christ the King thanks His Excellency, Bishop Perry, for his continual support of its growing apostolate at the Shrine.
