Midwest Summer Camp for Girls

‘The measure to love is to love without measure.’ Saint Francis de Sales

The Company of the Immaculate Girl’s Camp left us all very edified despite the bad weather. It seemed that as the weather got worse, the spirit of the campers became even stronger. Putting all their efforts on living according to their motto: ‘The measure to love is to love without measure." Once again the choice of the winning team for the “Spirit Award” was a difficult decision!

One of the main events of the girl’s camp is the cooking contest, where each team makes a three course meal. However, this year’s girl’s camp had a little twist to its culinary combat: the Institute clerics joined as a surprise team… However, the clergy could not beat one of our camper’s dessert!

The fun and games were also accompanied by spiritual talks given by the clerics. We were blessed this week as well to sing the Night Office of Compline twice in the chapel with the participation of the campers. The camp ended with a Solemn High Mass in the camp chapel, with a choir composed of campers and camp counselors.

We thank Divine Providence for making these summer camps possible and for keeping us in His divine protection. We thank all the participants from near and far and all of those who worked closely with us for the practical work and logistics of the camp. In a special way, we also thank everyone who was praying for us in our mission to foster the growth of a solid Catholic generation of youth.  We hope to see our dear campers and many others next year!
