2016 Ordinations Pilgrimage to Italy

Led by a Canon of the Institute as chaplain from June 30 – July 9, 2016, the pilgrims will begin with two full days in the Basilicas and Shrines of Rome. They will attend Sunday Mass at the Institute’s Apostolate in Chiesa Gesu e Maria in the heart of Rome, as well as the Sunday Angelus of the Holy Father in St. Peter’s Square. En route to Florence, they will then visit the Basilica at Orvieto, site of a Eucharistic miracle. Pilgrims will see the young seminarians receive their cassocks and Minor Orders. They will assist at the Pontifical Masses of Ordinations for the Deacons and Subdeacons, as well as for the Priests, which will be conferred by His Eminence, Raymond Leo Cardinal Burke. They will participate in a guided tour of St. Philip Neri International Seminary and of the Institute’s Motherhouse, while visiting the beautiful seminary grounds nestled in the Florentine hills among the olive groves and vineyards. Pilgrims are invited to join the seminarians for buffet dinner and Ordinations banquet with fireworks. Having assisted at the First Mass of a newly-ordained priest, they will also enjoy an afternoon in Siena, as well as sightseeing in Florence.
