The feast of Corpus Christi on Thursday, June 15, 2017, marked the first visit to Detroit of Msgr. Gilles Wach, Founder & Prior General of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest. A Solemn High Mass was offered by Msgr. Wach, with Canon Michael Stein as deacon and Canon Edward Gardner, a native son of Detroit, as subdeacon.

StJoseph Oratory in Detroit celebrated its patronal feast day on Monday, March 20, the Solemnity of StJoseph, Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, with a daylong StJoseph Day of Prayer.  It was a grace-filled occasion not only for clergy and parishioners of the Oratory, but also for visiting clergy, religious, seminarians, and faithful from around the Archdiocese of Detroit and beyond, including pilgrims from other Institute apostolates.

First Mass at St. Joseph Oratory in Detroit

The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest established St. Joseph Oratory in Detroit on October 7, 2016, at the invitation of His Excellency, the Most Reverend Allen Vigneron, Archbishop of Detroit.  The new Rector, Canon Michael Stein, along with Deacon Jonathan Fehrenbacher, moved to Detroit on October 11.
