Since late August, the second phase of work has begun in earnest and continued non-stop. The floor was excavated and graded, and brought to the proper height in order to prepare for the installation of the over 3,500 feet of electrical conduit that was run. Conduit was run into the future basement, which was excavated to provide room for the future restrooms and infrastructure rooms. Access was cut under the sanctuary floor for plumbing and heating ducts.

 

 

 

Once all these preparations were completed, stone was put down over the conduit and compacted, in order to bring the floor to the proper level before the installation of the PEX tubing which will provide radiant heat in the church. After that, the new concrete slab will be ready to be poured, hopefully in time for Christmas!

 

 

 

Part 1 of Phase II will provide a 6” thick, structural concrete slab to the church’s narthex, nave, sanctuary, and basement as a foundation for the subsequent steps in Phase II.
