In the photos below, Father Buchholz introduces parishioner, Dr. Jeffery Brederman, M.D. for his talk on Embryonic Stem Cell research and Human Cloning. The talk given in the Parish Hall was on November 5th just prior to the Missouri-wide voting to approve Amendment 2 which was vigorously opposed by the Catholic Church.

INSTITUTE OF CHRIST THE KING SOVEREIGN PRIEST CONVEYS ITS CONGRATULATIONS TO THE DIOCESE'S NEW MONSIGNORS.

 

With great joy, the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest congratulates the Most Reverend Robert W. Finn, Bishop of Kansas City - St. Joseph on the elevation of ten members of his presbyterate into the Papal Family, as well as the promotion of Monsignor William Blacet as Protonotary Apostolic. A special felicitation goes to our dear Monsignor Bradley S. Offutt, Chancellor of the Diocese and President of our building committee for his appointment to Prelate of Honor. We will keep him and all the other Monsignors in our grateful prayers.

BISHOP FINN ANNOUNCES THE APPOINTMENT OF 10 NEW MONSIGNORS IN THE DIOCESE. This is the first appointment of such honors in this diocese since 1968. New Monsignor Bradley Offutt, who has been so instrumental in helping develop and manage the Oratory renovation planning, is one of the honorees.

The honorees are:

Reverend Monsignor William J. Blacet, Pastor of Our Lady of Good Counsel, and since 1968 a Prelate of Honor, is now Protonotary Apostolic.

The ten new Monsignors include:

Reverend Monsignor A. Robert Murphy, Vicar General, Prelate of Honor

Reverend Monsignor Bradley S. Offutt, Chancellor, Prelate of Honor

Reverend Monsignor Robert S. Gregory, Rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Prelate of Honor

Reverend Monsignor Richard M. Dierkes, Pastor of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral, Prelate of Honor

Reverend Monsignor Donald S. Miller, Chaplain to His Holiness

Reverend Monsignor Ralph L. Kaiser, Pastor of the Church of the Santa Fe, Chaplain to His Holiness

In informing the new monsignors, Bishop Finn commended them for their outstanding priestly work and their fidelity to the Holy Father. "These honors today to a handful of our priests are very meaningful to the men themselves, their families, and to the people they serve. It is an honor for our Diocese of Kansas City ~ St. Joseph to be recognized in this way and is particularly meaningful coming, as it does, during our Diocese's Jubilee Year."

ORATORY PICNIC, ON SEPTEMBER 24TH WAS A BIG SUCCESS...SAYS EVERYONE WHO ATTENDED. Mr. Don Deister's Bar-B-Que mastery was on display...all others displayed an excellent appetite and appreciation.

OLD ST PATRICKS ORATORY'S ARCHITECT FOR INTERIOR DESIGN, WILLIAM HEYER, TO GIVE A TALK IN CHICAGO. Sponsored by the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, Mr. Heyer's presentation will be on October 22nd.
