IN CASE YOU MISSED THE EXCELLENT STORY ABOUT OLD ST. PATRICK LATIN MASS PUBLISHED JULY 29TH IN THE KANSAS CITY STAR...Click here.

The Kansas City STAR featured the Oratory in a superbly written article about the Latin Mass and some of the people who attend in Kansas City. Everyone quoted in the article told of their path to Latin Mass attendance, but most of the comments followed the pattern of being attracted primarily by the beauty, sacrality and the palpable sense of reverence for the presence of Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

PARISHIONER WORK CREW PACKS LARRY HEFLIN'S BELONGINGS

Parishioner, Larry Heflin, who passed away in early July willed his entire estate to Old St. Patrick Oratory. Part of the estate was the contents of his home which included hundreds of beautiful objects of ecclesiastical art. Types of items in the estate were religious statuary, paintings, icons, and church furnishings.

A crew of parishioners was recuited to carefully pack up these items and move them to storage for eventual use at the Oratory once the estate is completely settled and the move to 8th and Cherry is made.

Robin Quastler headed a crew composed of Andy and Charlotte Johnson, Anna Marie Barvick, Jo Anne Farris and Gwen and Jim Gooch. They handled all the organization, paperwork, photographic documentation and they carefully packaged and wrapped all the beautiful items.

The moving crew (shown above, from left to right) was Steve Martinez, Felicia Villotti, Joseph Villotti, Tim Leete, Don Deister, Joe Farris, Jacob Villotti, Maria Villotti, Robin Quastler, Joshua Dunne, Nicholas Dunne, and (behind the camera) John Quastler. Mike Koop also lent a hand, but had to leave before this picture was taken.
