Corpus Christi in Wausau, 2003

At St. Mary's Oratory in Wausau, Wisconsin, on June 22, 2003, was celebrated the External Solemnity of Corpus Christi. Several hundred faithful gathered to worship the Eucharistic Lord in Mass and during the following Procession. This was the first celebration of Corpus Christi in the newly renovated and consecrated church.

It was also the occasion for First Holy Communions. Of those who made their First Holy Communion on this day was a young lady who had converted from Lutheranism just a few days earlier.

In his sermon, Father von Menshengen preached about the recent encyclical on the Eucharist, "Ecclesia de Eucharistia" ("The Church from the Eucharist"), which Pope John Paul II promulgated on Holy Thursday, 2003.
